Welcome

Hello everyone! I have read many blogs about home decorating, such as Dreamy Whites, CityCottage, and Canadian Cottage (they are all fantastic!) and have begun to decorate my own home. As my title suggests I love all things rustic and most things white. I will be sharing my trials and tribulations of decorating in a home with 1 husband, 4 teenage sons, 2 male dogs and 1 male cat. I am trying desperately to decorate my home with a feminine touch. Please take a look at my photos as my husband and I start by decorating our livingroom. Hope you enjoy our decorating journey:o) Pleae feel free to email me at rusticandwhite@bell.net

Some finds at a local auction!!

I love going to the auction with my husband.  We enjoy each others company a lot! We laugh, joke and buy.  I have taken some pictures of what we found today.  I usually find the stuff and then we bid together.  Once we were bidding against each other and didn't even know it.  The auctioneer, god bless him, did notice and then the crowd started laughing once he pointed it out.  Needless to say now we make sure where the other is when we start to bid.  Hope you enjoy what we brought home.  I am so excited because bringing home new stuff means starting new projects:o)

This pic shows the pile of wood we bought for $4.00.  We weren't sure what
was inside the bunch but we were willing to take our chances.  I love
surprises don't you?

This is the side view.  We just piled everything in and then headed for home.
We spent a total of $25.00 for all our finds.  We feel like we hit the jackpot!!

Doors to a sideboard probably.  New shelves for me!

Don't you just love the detail?  This will be beautiful painted white with
old brackets hanging on my wall.  Ooohh I am so excited:o)

Three different drawers.  At least one of them is getting
painted a light gray and then it will be
used in my newly decorated laundry room.  (Pics of that room later)

More pieces of yummy goodness.

I sure hope you have enjoyed this little preview of all my luscious finds.  I will be sure to show them to you once they are all spruced up!

Bye for now!

Carrie

  3. Carrie, you got great stuff! I love auctions too! We go to one the first and third Saurda..then some "out of towners" came in and drove the prices sky high!! At one point the auctioneer said $2,000.00...I looked at my girlfriend and siad, "Did he just say $2,000.00?" Needless to say we have skipped a couple and hope the Atlanta bunch stay home! lol

Can't wait to see what you do with your haul!

  18. Thanx so much for stopping by Carrie! I love my floors too now that they are glued down and not floating. It has been a trial and error experience that is for sure but well worth the trouble. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
